Our dedicated team of elected officials and key personnel work tirelessly to serve the community, ensuring that Elloree remains a welcoming, vibrant, and thriving town.
Elloree is home to a vibrant array of organizations that contribute significantly to our community’s social, cultural, and civic life. From historical preservation to youth athletics, these groups offer numerous opportunities for residents to engage, volunteer, and make a positive impact.
Established in 1857, Charity Lodge No. 62 is one of Elloree’s oldest organizations. The Lodge actively participates in annual events such as the Independence Day program and the Civic Organizations Barbeque Dinner. They also provide several scholarships to support local education.
Founded in 1941, the Elloree Garden Club focuses on beautifying our town. Their projects include flower shows, planting shrubbery, and maintaining the grounds of historic sites like the “Old Jail House.” Annual activities feature the Yard of the Month contest, Christmas doorway contest, and sponsoring youth to attend Camp Wildwood.
Since 1955, the Evergreen Garden Club has been dedicated to civic beautification projects. Members work diligently to enhance parks, the community center, the museum, and other areas. They are primarily responsible for maintaining Loyns Park and collaborate with the Elloree Garden Club to upkeep the town’s welcome signs.
Chartered in 1938, the Elloree Lions Club has a long-standing tradition of service. They fund eye exams and provide glasses for low-income residents. The club actively participates in community events like the annual Barbeque Dinner, Independence Day program, and Trunk or Treat. Fundraisers include selling brooms and cookbooks, as well as hosting the annual Lions Club Breakfast with Santa.
This organization sponsors youth sports teams, including Wee Ball, Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Softball, and Baseball, as part of the Lake Marion Dixie Youth league. Practices are held at the Elloree ballfield on Harlin Street and in Midway.
Established in 1896, the Knights of Pythias have been active in sponsoring youth baseball teams and supporting community events. They participate in the annual Barbeque Dinner and Independence Day program and are strong supporters of the Pythian Sisters of Elloree Temple No. 4.
Organized in 1951, the Mentor Book Club aimed to improve the town’s library facilities. They established the Mentor Library, which now operates as part of the Orangeburg County Library System, offering a wide circulation of books. The club remains active in community events, including the Independence Day program and the Cooking on Cleveland cook-off.
As a relatively new organization, the Pythian Sisters have quickly become one of the most active groups in Elloree. They engage in various civic projects and participate in events like the Elloree Trials, Pork Fest, and Small Town Christmas. They also organize the town’s annual Trunk or Treat event on Halloween.
Our local churches play an integral role in the social fabric of Elloree. Congregations are active in hosting fundraising dinners, non-denominational praise services, and community fun days. They welcome visitors and new members to join in fostering the well-being of the town.
